Not only do these hoops look extremely cool, they will add warmth and bottom end to your drum. We machine the solid maple hoops out of extra thick maple bendings to relieve any internal stress. The hoop lugs are attached with special screws that effectively disperse the tension so you can tune your drum however you'd like.

 

Now, for some common sense. The hoops are wood, and thus will slightly dent when playing rim shots. However, after abusing some test hoops for many months, we are confident that these hoops will withstand normal playing for many, many years. Not made for nor recommended for thrashers!

 

Now, for a technical note. Because of the profile of the hoop lug attachment screw, these hoops work best on shells that have a plain wood finish or a thin wrap. Thicker wraps like glass glitter will add diameter to the shell that will make clearance difficult, unless the wrap is cut back from the bearing edge.
